About Author

Hello, I'm Rubina Rafeeque, an architect and a first-year Master of Community Planning student at the University of Cincinnati. Cairo's architectural beauty and rich planning history have always fascinated me deeply. My journey in architecture and planning has taken me across various projects in the UAE and India while working for companies based in Dubai. During my undergraduate studies, I delved into extensive research on the traditional architectural style of Kerala, a state in South India. Participating in Dubai Expo 2020 exposed me to diverse pavilions showcasing the unique identities of different countries. Now, I'm thrilled to embark on a Summer 2024 Co-op in Aviation planning at Ricondo Associates based in Chicago.
